An optical cable (Tos-Link) is also another way to connect your soundbar to your TV. This type of cable is similar to an HDMI cable and transmits digital sound, so you can hear every detail. You can also connect your devices (cable boxes, video game systems, and Blu-ray players) to the TV, and have the sound output from the TV to the soundbar.

Enter one side of the Optical Cable to the Optical Digital IN port. The Optical Digital IN port usually locates on the back of the soundbar. Now, connect the cable’s other end to the Optical Digital OUT port. The location of this OUT port is on the back of your TV.
Well, now you need to plug in the other optical cable side in your soundbar port which should be marked as Digital Audio In (Optical). That’s how your soundbar is connected now to your television.

If I connect them through optical (toslink), I can’t control the volume with Samsung’s One remote. When I press volume up or down, the tv shows on screen the word "optical" and nothing happens.
